Lush Haul

https://www.lush.co.uk/

There is a Lush store dangerously close to my work.   So I decided to pop in during my lunch break to have a look for some Christmas prezzies and ended up leaving for some bits for myself, oops.

The lovely lady that I met in the store was so helpful and went through loads of their  Christmas gift sets and some of their new products launches with me too.

Snow White shower jel - this product is a limited edition Christmas shower jel and is absolutely gorgeous, it has a really fresh but also sweet at the same time zingy apple scent.  It has the same scent as the So White bath bomb which I also love.  If you are fan of fruity (extremely applely smells) you need to stock up on this one before Christmas is over!

The Comforter - this bubble bar is a lush classic.  It is huge and you can easily get four baths out of this product.  You break a piece of and hold it and under the hot running water and it creates the most gorgeous, big, pink bubbly bubbles.  It's also super soothing and leaves your skin super soft.

Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar - this is one of lush's most recent launches. It's a shampoo that's in a solid like soap form.  It has the same scent as the very popular Honey I Washed The Kids Soap.  Although I did find the shampoo bar nice and it left my hair feeling super nourished and soft.   I would only use this product if you wash your hair often as I find that I need something a little more nourishing to give my hair a deep cleanse.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub -  This is basically a little pot of sugary goodness.  You just scrub a little bit over the top of your lips and it makes them lovely and soft! it also tastes and smells like bubble gum, what is not to love about that?

Northern Lights Bath Bomb -  I think this is a product that Lush brought out as part of their bonfire night range.  It leaves your bath looking beautiful!  I was shocked how many bright popping colours it produced in my bath.   It smells like lavender which I wasn't sure on at first as lavender isn't always my favourite scent but the explosion of colour it makes in your bath defo makes up for it!

I hope you enjoyed this post.  What Lush products are you loving for this festive season?

The red lip that will last all night...

Don't you hate going to the bathroom on a night out and immediately thinking why did NO ONE tell me my lipstick has smudged all over my face?  It is even worse when you are wearing a red lip and it is ten times more noticeable.

There has been a few reviews about in the recent months about the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks and I recently decided to check them out due to very mixed reviews.  I have decided I am very much a fan.  These are the most long lasting lipsticks that I have tried to the extent when it is time to take it off I am scrubbing it off my lips.

I have only tried out two of the shades Pink Pong and Hot Pepper.  Hot Pepper has to be my favourite which is the  most vibrant red.  The lipsticks are almost a liquid to powder formula and the finish is matte.  I don't know why but I prefer a matte finish when wearing a vibrant red lip.  Although I can find that matte formulas can be very drying on the lips but this is not the case with these at all.

These do take a little practice before you can apply them well and can be quite messy during the practicing stage.  When you first put it on it is a very thick liquid consistency and you have to wait a couple minutes for it to dry if you want it to stay in that place all day.

I would definitely recommend these as I think they are the best liquid lipsticks I have ever tried.  I also think that they are the most long lasting lipsticks on the market right now.  All for £8.99?

A Peek Into My Make-Up Bag

Hello lovely ladies.  Today I thought I would give you guys a sneaky peek inside my make-up bag. You nosey lot.

I chop and change my make-up  bag all the time but I am going to share with you guys my current favourites.

Let's start with the base.

My Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation.  What a beauty.  A lovely dewy finish with a slight shimmer to it.  Perfect for the summer months or what ever you call this weather we are having at the moment.  I have talked about it before in more depth HERE.

The eyes.

The Naked 3.  I am loving my Naked 3 pallet by Urban Decay at the moment.  Compared to the Naked 2 there is a lot more pinky shades which I personally prefer.  These shadows are so buttery and are a dream to blend.

For the eyes I am also loving this Eye Shadow Pencil by Collection.  They had a few colours to choose from but Hot Chocolate is defo my fave, how cute is that name.  They are SO easy to use and you are able to do a smokey eye in a matter of seconds.  These are also a lot more appealing if you are on a budget compared to the Naked 3.  £2.99?  What a bargain.

Another cheaper alternative to the Naked 3 that I have to mention is the MUA Luxe Pretty Edgy Eye Palette.  This palette is so beautiful.  The colour selection is quite girly as there is mainly pink and purple shades but I absolutely love them all.  There is two rows of shadows, a row of six shimmer shades along the top and four matte along the bottom.  I like how MUA have made the matte shades slightly bigger than the shimmers too as these are the ones I tend to reach for the most.  I also have to mention the amazing packaging.  I am in love with the black clutched case with gold studs all over it, I think it makes the product look so much more expensive than £8!  You all need this palette in your life.

L'oreal Volume Million Lashes Noir Excess.  Do I need to say more?  I wasn't sure whether to include this in today's post as I have mentioned it countless times HERE and HERE.  However this mascara is what is currently in my make-up bag and what I am still using on an every day basis. Lovely long, thick and full lashes.  No critics here whatsoever.

The Lips

Surprise surprise another product I have mentioned before. The Rimmel Moisture Renew.  Please forgive me, I just love them so much.  They have such a beautiful range of shades to choose from and are so moisturising on the lips.  Enough said.

The Tanya Burr lip glosses are not news to anyone within the beauty blogging community.  I have 3 shades myself Exotic Island, Afternoon Tea and Picnic in the Park which are all currently living inside my make-up bag.  These lip glosses have such a beautiful formula they are long lasting, super pigmented and smell a-maz-ing.

The Cheeks and The Contour

During the summer months everyone wants to look like a golden goddess and one of my favourite products to use lately has been the Bronzing Powder by Bourjois.  It gives your cheeks a beautiful golden glow and does not look orange and muddy at all which is the effect many drugstore bronzers can have.  This bronzer does have a quite shimmer to it but I actually like it and thinks it adds to the golden goddess look.

For blush I have been loving the Dream Touch cream blushers by Maybelline.  They are a beautiful creamy texture which are so easy to blend.  I should add though a little of this blush goes a VERY long way so unless you want to look like a china doll I would be very careful when applying.  This is speaking from past experience spending ten minutes trying to buff it in to the skin.  I have the pink rose shade in 06.

I hope you guys enjoyed seeing all the beauty products that I am loving right now.  What are your make-up bag essentials?

A Night on the Town

I have been 18 for three months now and I have only just recently had my first night out on the town.  A few weeks back it was my lovely sisters 22nd birthday and we decided this was the perfect opportunity for me, my sister and my cousin to have our first night all together.  They had been out together before as they are both a couple years older than me however this time I got to  join in with the fun instead of sitting at home and watching Strictly with my Mum.

Of course for this special occasion I needed a special outfit and everything in my wardrobe was just not living up to my expectations.  I am totally guilty of having 1687564583 dresses but still having nothing to wear.  Please tell me I am not the only one?

This photo was literally taken I was heading out the door haha
Although I wanted a new outfit for my first night out I was not in the mood for breaking the bank.  I picked up this little black dress from Primark for £17.  Although it was a complete bargain I had to justify buying this dress when I had 1687564583 others to choose from at home and as I was walking to the cash register I thought to myself... I don t have another black dress.  How could I not have a LBD in my collection this is a crime.  LBD you are coming home with me.

The cute coral wedges are also from Primark I think they were about £10 however I don't think you can still get them in store as I got them a while back.  They are my favourite shoes at the moment, they give you a tiny bit of height but are still comfy so you aren't crawling around the floor at the end of the night and my white clutch is from Newlook.

Why have a glass when you can have a jug?

Left - My sister Hannah
Right - My Cousin Emily

Me and Hannah on her 22nd Birthday!

We had so much fun the night was full of dancing, drinking cocktails and gossiping.  What could be better?  I can't wait to go out again!

My Holiday Essentials

I hope you all enjoyed my post about my time away in Turkey (HERE).  As promised, here is a post containing all the essentials that you will need if you are off to somewhere sunny this summer.

Sun Cream - I know this is a pretty obvious one but if you are jetting off abroad sun cream is a MUST have.  The last thing you want is to get burnt on holiday as it is painful and puts you off sun for the rest of your holiday.  It is also extremely dangerous as it can increase the risk of skin cancer.  Although I know applying sun cream regularly when on holiday is very important I am in no way an expert and I would hate to feed you guys false info so please check out what the experts say (HERE).

A Summer Hat - I love my floppy hat.  I think it is absolutely perfect for protecting my parting from getting burnt.  Yes, that has happened to me before it was extremely painful and instead of my parting being white per usual it was red (it was extremely embarrassing).  Of course if you aren't interested in buying a big floppy hat because you know that you just wouldn't wear it, I am pretty sure that there are sun creams on the market specifically for protecting your parting.

I also like that as this hat is so big that it gives the back of your neck extra protection from the sun when you are walking places.

 Flip Flops

What so you guys think of Havaianas?  I must admit at first I wasn't sold at all.  I didn't understand why everybody was so obsessed with these shoes and in my opinion they were over priced for flip flops.  I would happily spend 20-30 pounds on a nice pair of sandals but I couldn't understand why anybody would pay that much for flip flops. Now I do.  They are honestly the most comfortable pair of flip flops I have ever owned, they don't rub in between your toes and the soles are super soft.

The Sunnies -  Ooo do I love a good pair of sunnies.  For my recent holiday I purchased this cute pair from Topshop (photo above).

Jellies - Some people love them and some people hate them.  I love them.  That's right, I love the shoes that our Mum's forced us to wear on the beach when we were little.  JELLIES ARE BACK and have been for a while.  I purchased these silver glittery ones last August.  I wanted a pair so bad and searched all over the internet high and low as they were sold out everywhere.  I went in to my local Office and the only sizes they had left was a 7 or 8 and that was no good for my size 4 feet.  I finally found a pair on the American Apparel website in my size and they were mine 4 days later!

Tangle Teezer & Detangle Spray - I have the worlds knottiest hair and I don't know why.   I take good care of my hair but after I get out the shower all the knots and tangles are back.   So when I am on holiday and have been going in the swimming pool and the sea as you can imagine the tangles are 10 times worse.  Therefore if I didn't have my Tangle Teezer to tease out the knots it would have been disastrous.  I also like to spray a leave in  conditioner in my hair for extra help, the one that I like using at the moment is the Aussie Miracle Recharge Light Weight Conditioning Spray (what a mouthful).

I hope you guys enjoyed having a peek inside my suitcase.  What are your essentials for a summer holiday?

Where you can find my essentials:

Piz Buin - Boots
Floppy Hat - Tesco
Aussie Conditioning Spray - Boots
Tangle Teezer - Boots
Havaianas - JD Sports
JuJu Jellies - American Apparel

JUNE FAVES

Where has the month of June gone?  This year is flying by.  Can you believe that we are closer to the next January than we are to the last (people hate it when I tell them that haha).  Anyways, before July slips through our fingers and it's too late lets talk June Favourites.

Mitchum deodorant - This first one is a bit of a boring one but everybody needs to use it and this is the deodorant that I am loving right now.  I used it all through the month of June as I took it on holiday with me.  When you are on holiday and in the sun all day you want a deodorant that is going to keep you fresh for as long as possible and in my opinion this is the best one to do so.

Rimmel Wake Me Up - This use to be my drugstore foundation of choice hands down but when Rimmel launched Match Perfection I had to give that one a go and I ended up ditching my Wake Me Up for Match Perfection.  However I am back to loving my Wake Me Up Foundation again, it gives the most beautiful dewy finish and has a slight shimmer to it which I also like. It is the perfect foundation for a sun kissed summer look and is great for covering up those dark circles under your eyes.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes  - I was loving this mascara in the month of June.  I had it on every night whilst on holiday and I have been wearing it non-stop since I have been home too.  It   separates your lashes perfectly adding volume and length but it doesn't leave you with any awful clumps.   If you want to see a more in depth review of this mascara then I have a whole blog post dedicated to it (HERE).

Rimmel Moisture Renew in In Love With Ginger - Ooo Rimmel are just on form for me at the moment.  All through the month of June I noticed I kept reaching for Rimmel products.  And isn't this vibrant orange lipstick a beauty? Yes.  The answer is yes.  I have a couple of these Moisture Renew lipsticks and I love them all.  They are so moisturising and not all drying on the lips.  However if you don't like scented lipsticks then these may not be for you although I personally love the smell of these lipsticks.  Glam Plum Fullham is also a nice shade, it is a lovely plumb colour that is perfect for the Autumn/Winter months.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post.  I would love to know what you have been loving in the months of June? Or if you have also been loving some of my current faves?

DEPOP

Have you ever been strolling through Instagram seen something that you have feel head over heels in love with and wished you had a buy button to click on?  If so, you need this app in your life...who has heard of Depop? I know that I might be very late in joining the party but for those of you that don't know Depop is an app which you can buy and sell second hand clothes from much like Ebay.

However in my opinion Depop is much better, as there are no fees for putting an item up and they only take a small 5%  of the profit once the item has sold.  Another great thing is that unlike Ebay there is no time limit which the items have to be sold in, they can stay on your page for as long as you wish!

There are so many lovely and friendly buyers and sellers on this app that are always willing to answer any questions about any items that you are interested in.  You can even swap items! That's right if you are a little low for cash you can come to an agreement with another buyer to swap your brand new dress that doesn't fit for a pair of new pair of shoes.  Although I must warn you all to be very careful when doing this as I would hate for one of you to get scammed!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, who else uses Depop?

L'OREAL VOLUME MILLION LASHES

In a previous post I said that the Maybelline the falsies was my favourite mascara of all time  (linked below).  Although I am still very much in love with this mascara there is another that has stole my heart... The L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Noir Excess.  I love this mascara just as much as my beloved falsies, in fact I think I even prefer it! It makes your lashes look amazing by separating them evenly and leaving you with no clumps, wehay!

I am quite fortunate to have naturally rather long and thick eyelashes (thank you Mum) therefore it is not very often that mascara really blows me away.  However this stuff does wonders! It leaves my lashes looking thicker, fuller and gives them an incredible amount of length and volume.  When my boyfriend said ''your eyelashes look long today" I knew I had to share this product with you guys! When do boys EVER notice a new mascara!?

If you guys would like to check out this product it is available from Boots and Superdrug for about £10.99.  A little pricey for a drugstore mascara in my mind but worth every single penny.

What is your favourite drugstore mascara?  Or what is your go to mascara of the moment?

18 months of pouting

After 18 months of pouting in pictures, the big day has finally come... I got my braces off! Hallelujah.  All of my fellow corn on the cob lovers out there will understand my happiness.

For 18 months I have had to stop eating my beloved corn on the cob, never bite into apples (to avoid becoming a human apple shredder) and only drink fizzy drinks through a straw - I must admit I did not take the last rule as seriously as I should of done.   Shhhhhhhhhhh *hides head in shame*.

I am so happy with my brand new extra straight teeth and even more happy that they are off before my 18th birthday in May. I know I know, very close call but now their off and I can not stop smiling even at random people on the bus  (weird but true) and licking my teeth (this is a luxury that I believe we all very much take for granted).

Although I moaned and groaned during the whole entire process I am so glad that I did it as I'm sooooooo happy with the result and I would 100% make the same decision tomorrow.  I will definitely be wearing my retainer after I pick it up tomorrow though as I would hate for all the hard work to be a waste of time!

What do you guys think? Rachel x

Easter Sunday 2014

I hope you all had a brilliant Easter Sunday and long weekend, woo.  However it's now Tuesday and everybody has the Monday blues.  Confusing right? I have walked in to the wrong classrooms countless times at College today and then realised I was looking at the wrong day on my timetable.

Even though on Sunday the weather was slightly dull here is some photos of my annual family Easter egg hunt to brighten up your day!

Hair products I am loving right now...

Hair products have to be one of my favourite things, ever.

I know that is a pretty bold statement to make considering there is so many other important things that should be at the top of my list of priorities.  However when I buy a new shampoo and conditioner and it leaves my hair feeling silky and soft I can not stop smiling and swishing my hair back and forth like I am in advert for VO5.

This is a must for girls with long hair like myself.  When I get out the shower my hair is always ridiculously tangled and knotty however my knotty hair is no match for this leave in conditioner paired with my trusty Tangle Teezer.  What did we do before the days of Tangle Teezer's?  Mine is my saviour.

This stuff smells a-maz-ing.  I can only vouch for 'The silky smoother' as this is the only one I have tried so far but I will definitely be trying out more soon.  The scent is vanilla and papaya it is fruity and fresh which I am very much a fan of.  The formula is very creamy but is also light as I don't find that it weighs my hair down or makes it look heavy at all.  You all need to try this product, I honestly do not think it will disappoint.  When I picked this product up I believe it was half price from Boots, better get shopping guys.

I spray this into the roots of my hair and backcomb for a little more texture after styling my hair.  I also spray it on the mid-ends of my hair, mainly after curling it to give it a little more of the messy 'undone' look.  Ironic, right?  We spend all this time on our hair to make people believe that we haven't put in much effort at all.  However I still kind of like this look.

In my  Affordable Beauty Products post mentioned that I was loving my Sleek eye shadow palette.  I decided to take some photographs for you all to have a browse.  As I don't think the pictures on the drugstore websites  do it justice.

I must admit the pigmentation of these shadows are excellent and I can't get enough! I will definitely be trying out more eye shadows from Sleek and hope to try out some of their other products soon too.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post and please look out for future posts featuring Sleek.

Easter Sunday

Not long now guys, until Easter Sunday! I love Easter.  My family always come together and enjoy the day.  Everybody has their own family traditions and ours is that we usually all sit around eating cake and drinking tea until somebody falls asleep.  I have a particular uncle in mind that usually wins!

In my family we all take part in an Easter egg hunt! Are you jealous? If not, you should be it is very fun! So, this it what happens.  Every Easter Sunday my whole entire family (my aunts, uncles, cousins and the rest) all go to my Grandma's house.  We all sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine, except for the year it started snowing... (I live in Britain).  Although my Gran  does love her Garden and as soon as spring hits, we are all made to sit in the 'sunshine'.  Which I must admit me and my sister are not always best pleased about.

My Gran would always buy little Easter eggs such as Cream Eggs (mmmmmm)  and tie some string on to them so that they could be hooked places around the garden.  All the children would always  be made to go inside the house and wait for the eggs to be hidden (not that we didn't try to peak through the curtains).  My uncles would always try to find new and original places to hide the eggs because after many years of doing the hunt  and as some of us started to get slightly older we new all the old hiding places!  However my Gran did find one in the Garden a month later one year? I know I know, ewwwwwww.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope to keep you updated with a post on Easter 2014!
